By Waldy Diez NEWARK, N.J. (NCC News) – The Transportation Security Administration stopped a man traveling to Syracuse after officers found a loaded handgun in the man’s carry-on luggage.
Gregory Soltanoff, 40, of Woodstock was traveling from Newark Liberty International Airport when TSA officers found a .32 caliber handgun loaded with six bullets in his carry-on bag.
Joe Pentangelo with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police said Soltanoff was charged on Sunday with unlawful possession of a hand-gun and hollow-point bullets.
He was arrested and later released on Sunday. This did not affect airport operations.
